Break, Abandon, and Leave

I’ve read a book <<Break, Abandon, Leave>> recently and feel so refreshed with following some of this advice. Break ~ means stop buying and collecting unuseful things in our life; Abandon ~ means clean up that useless stuff in our house; Leave ~ means give up our addiction to our want this want that feeling.

Now a day with social media and advertisements everywhere, we start buying more and more than what we need. How many of us have items that are so amazing but wearily use within 3 years? I’m sure many of us do. Even though we keep donating those items, when we didn’t break our habit of buying because it’s good deals, we will increase stress for our life. You might be surprised when you start breaking our habit of buying and buying, how many debts we won’t have on our shoulders, how much time we save to clean those treasures, and how much pain for donating them. The easy way to start, it’s that every time before we buy something, we start asking ourselves, do I really need this, does any similar item I had in my house already, how often will I use this before we buy them.

Not gonna lie, abandon is the most difficult part for me because they all have meaning to me even those items I didn’t use in my house. I’ve attached them emotionally. However, I switch my thought to someone who needs this more than me. Then I start to pick those items and think about friends and family who need those items, and gift them to those. If no one around me don’t need those items, I’ll do some research on the non-profit organization and see if they’re a good fit for me to donate these treasure. When things won’t be useful for anyone, I’ll put them on my treasure list, only the top 10 items gonna stay with me. Soon, I clean up 60% of my place and feel the lightening on my shoulder.

Leave the addiction of wanted help me feel refreshed personally, I feel like when I wanted less and less, my mind got more and more clear, and start willing to let go of my past, trying my best to move on in my life.

Above is the experience with great results I have by following the break, abandon, leave steps from this book reading. You’re welcome to try and see if these will help you lighten your soul and life.
